Perkins diesel engines can be found in a variety of industrial equipment such as Hyster, Clark, Caterpillar, Gehl, JLG, Vermeer, Manitou, Genie, Bobcat, Bandit, Morbark, Wacker and many others. The company was started in England in 1932 and has had a variety of owners. In 1959 Perkins was purchased by Massey Ferguson, the tractor manufacturer. Massey kept Perkins until 1994 when LucasVarity bought Perkins. Perkins was sold again in 1998 to Caterpillar.
